President Obama, Bill Clinton and House Speaker John Boehner joined people around the world Thursday in wishing "Happy Birthday" to an ailing Nelson Mandela as he turned 95 years old.
Mandela has been hospitalized for more than a month, but doctors say the former South African president's health has been improving after fears he was close to death. Here's a sample of the messages being posted by American politicians via Twitter:
